Coaching, Like Art, Is Beautifully Personal
When we commissioned a painting for our living room, we gave the artist just two things: our favourite colour schemes and the themes that light us up - skiing through alpine powder and sailing into the unknown. That was it. No blueprint. No Pinterest board. Just trust, collaboration, and a sense of adventure.
What arrived was a masterpiece - not because it was exactly what we envisioned, but because it wasn't. It was better. It was ours - filtered through the artist's skill, soul, and interpretation.
That's what coaching is like.
Too often, people assume coaching is a rigid, one-size-fits-all formula. "Step one: Set goals. Step two: Find clarity. Step three: Achieve greatness." Cue motivational soundtrack.
But real coaching - transformational coaching - is more like commissioning a piece of art. It starts with you. Your colours. Your lived experience. Your dreams, doubts, passions, patterns, and the personal quirks that make you unapologetically you. And just like no two snowflakes are the same, no two coaching journeys should be either.
As a coach, I don't arrive with a checklist - I arrive with curiosity, connection, and a finely tuned ear for what you're not saying. Together, we co-create. Sometimes it's bold strokes and breakthroughs. Sometimes it's layering, revisiting, and sitting with the abstract. But every time, it's yours.
Customized. Personalized. Yours. The result? Not always predictable. But always powerful.
Like the painting on our wall, coaching becomes a reflection of your values, your potential, your evolution. It's a space where you can ski into the metaphorical whiteout or sail into uncharted waters - knowing someone's guiding the process, even when the path isn't linear.
So if you're looking for a formula, coaching may not be it. But if you're looking for a mirror, a canvas, and a catalyst - you're in the right place.
